Interiors Black Book
A directory of over 100 shops, boutiques and websites for all your homeware needs - furniture, flooring, lighting, accessories and gifts. This is my secret address book and I'm opening it up for you.
I created a sourcing directory when I ran the blog and realised recently that I hadn’t moved it over to Substack. A list like this takes a long time to put together (and keep updated) so this one is for paid subscribers only. You can, of course, have access to it for a monthly fee of £7. There are more than 100 places to buy everything from candlesticks and cushions to furniture and flooring. And it will be a constantly evolving list, which I will add to the navigation bar at the top, so make sure you check it before you shop.
Any directory only works as well as its categories and that can be hard to get right. In the end I opted to arrange things broadly by the things I visit them for, but some make an extra appearance (with a dedicated link) in more than one category. That felt like the best way to organise things. Within each category they then appear in alphabetical order.
To that end you will find boutiques and sites, flooring and fabrics, window dressings and furniture, hardware and accessories as well as why I go to the main high street stores. For a more precise look at what I have bought ( or would like to buy given elastic walls and budget) you can look at My Shop which is arranged room by room with a large list of accessories and decorative objects with styling advice and tips. There you will find direct links to cushions and bedding etc rather than just the shops I like to go to. This should cover all angles.
The list is, naturally, UK-skewed but I have added US and EU where I know them or have had reliable recommendations. In order to better serve those places I ask that you all pitch in in the comments with your suggestions from all over the world and I will add them. In these days of global shipping it’s also less of an issue where a company is based.
