My New Book: Mad About The House Planner, Your Home Your Story
And here it is. Finally, after three delays and a pandemic the next book in The Mad About The House series and this one's for you. The Planner has space for you to write your own to do lists, draw your own floor plans and note down the addresses of the trades and the names of the paint you used. There are also planned spaces for you to fill in with details about what you love and hate about the spaces you are working on, room to answer those vital six questions you must ask before you begin any decorating and some squared pages for the dreaded budget sums.
I have even made a video of it for you to watch although my technical skills are slight and if you want subtitles you can watch it on my instagram channel. Otherwise, if you're at home you can play it in the background while you wander around making a cup of coffee or something. It's about 15 minutes long. And yes my hair is out of control and (because someone always asks) I used a purple shampoo for the colour which is otherwise natural.
Anyway, this book. It has been designed to be both useful - because who doesn't love a list - and beautiful - check out the gold foil edging and the two (yes TWO) ribbon markers so you can have one in the address part and one in the relevant room. This mean, I hope that while you will want to treat yourself and if you are like me the thought of new stationery is always very exciting, it will also make a beautiful present for someone.
And they don't have to be doing a whole renovation. I think it works perfectly for one room at a time. Or just for planning what you want to do. This is why there is a section called Love Lust Loathe (my version of Kiss, Marry, Kill, where you can make notes of what you would like, or the best bits of what you have, couple with what you really don't want (which might be a to do list if you're already in your house) and space to write down your dreams and aspirations for the space whether that's to shop from small sustainable businesses or create a lovely room for the whole family to come together. It is, as the saying now goes Your Home Your Story.
You can order here: I include the Amazon link because publishers and list makers of rankings like it. But I also know that many try to avoid it wherever possible so here is a link for the independent bookshops. You can, of course, buy from wherever you like, with the unspoken codicil - as long as you buy it!
I truly hope you will like it however you obtain it!
