The Househunter
Taking inspiration from real properties to help with our own places and spaces. This week we're in Margate.
As soon as I saw the first image of this week’s property I knew it was the one. It's the perfect example of why every scheme needs a disruptor colour – a shade that jumps out and brings an element of surprise to a space. A colour that stops it sliding into bland good taste which, let’s face it, may be nice but is very boring.
As Nancy Lancaster, the owner of Colefax & Fowler, said: “Crossing too many t’s and dotting too many i’s makes a room look overdone and tiresome. One should create something that fires the imagination without over-emphasis.”
So who’s coming to Margate then? It’s by the sea, the sun is shining (vaguely at the time of writing in late June) and it’s a great house that we can all take inspiration from.
