Today we are in Kent, to visit this brick and clapboard Mill House, in Cranbrook, which has been recently renovated and is on the market with Inigo for £800,000. I was immediately struck by this house as it calls to mind an earlier Design Decoded post, where I looked at the importance of applying a “red thread” to your interior design schemes. (That was for paid subscribers only, so do upgrade if you wish to have access to the full archive and to see the weekly posts.)

This house, which has four bedrooms, was built in the Georgian era but later adapted to Victorian tastes. It has a walled garden of its own (there’s also parking for two cars, as well as an EV charger) and the famous gardens of Sissinghurst are just a 10-minute drive away, so you will never be short of inspiration.
