It’s a wonderful thing when you find your tribe.

The intro reminds me of that scene from Fight Club: "You buy furniture. You tell yourself, this is the last sofa I will ever need in my life. Buy the sofa, then for a couple years you're satisfied that no matter what goes wrong, at least you've got your sofa issue handled. Then the right set of dishes. Then the perfect bed. The drapes. The rug. Then you're trapped in your lovely nest, and the things you used to own, now they own you.”

What an impressive community you've built!

If you are thinking of joining one of Kate’s retreats then I urge you to do it! We had a fabulous time in Turin last year. Kate and her husband Adam are brilliant hosts and clearly put loads of effort into researching the best hotel, the best restaurants and the best experiences. Kate is incredibly generous with her time and in sharing her knowledge. She has solutions for literally every interior conundrum you can think of, plus you’ll come away with a new community of like minded interiors obsessives happy to share sources and ideas. It’s the most creatively inspiring thing I have ever done for myself and don’t underestimate how lovely it is to have every decision made for you. Just relax and be chauffeured around, absorbing all the beauty that is Italy and Kate’s house. Book it! You won’t regret it!

Kate, your retreat sounds so delicious. I can dream for now - the first experience I had of Turin was over twenty years ago , walking through the arcades where happy, smiling, gelato-in-hand italians meandered along altogether. The atmosphere was just so Happy!! Such a fond memory.

Setting Plaster vs. Factor Fifty... are you reading my mind?? Would love to join you someday, when my kids are not quite so little and need me just slightly less!
