Thanks Kate for your reading recommendation, The Cursed Friend, set in Monza. A town worth visting especially to see the breath taking Chapel of Queen Theodelinda & Iron Crown. (By appointment).

The author, "Beatrice Salvioni was born in Monza in 1995 and now lives in Turin. She won the 2021 Italo Calvino Prize for short stories. The Cursed Friend is her first novel".

Just back from a visit to Monza and loved it! Totally beautiful city. The Iron Crown was extraordinary - originating in the Byzantine empire and used to crown both Charlemagne AND Napoleon. As a student of European history that made me feel dizzy! Will definitely check out Kate’s book recommendation.

I wish you’d taken a photo of the air fryer 😀

Yes. I miss that photo as well :-) But Kates photos are always lovely so I guess that an air fryer does not cut it :-)

Glad to hear there are podcast episodes in the making! And support for the IKEA bedding; the buttons are what make it, for sure.

Love wading through all this info. I have comments in my head where I have shared experiences but won’t bore you with them. Will however share that I bought the bed throw from collagerie x Zara. Love the look of the entire range but since I need nothing, found an excuse for a bed throw. Disappointing. Returned! Making the courgette orzo tonight. Thank you!!

Oh really it was no good? I hope you fair better with the orzo!

It was dull in real life. Didn’t work. The success of the orzo is down to my ability to follow a recipe !! 🤞

I am def looking for peperoncini when I go to Sainsburys today. I've never seen them in Portugal and I used to eat them all the time in salads and pastas and pizzas when I lived in NY. Sometimes I crave them hard so I've had to basically forget they exist. (Sad face emoji) But you reminded me (delighted face emoji) and I'm currently in a country where they might exist so if I can find them here, I'mma gonna make that zucchini orzo salad recipe. Also..love your book recs! And agree...summer beach reading should not be deep and brainy.
