It needs an injection of bad taste. It’s a lovely house but it’s very subdued.

I like most of this house yet it leaves me cold, and I’m not sure why. I like soft, muted colours, I love the doors and that fantastic front-to-back sightline.. .what’s wrong with me?? Having said that, the curtain fabric in the bathroom with the clawfoot bath is lovely. If anyone recognises it, I’d be delighted to know what it is. Not sure about the Pooky lampshade, but I have seen similar. If I find it, I’ll post again.

What a phenomenal house. Those red doors are fantastic, although like you I fear when I start my quest to find some, the prices will be rather unpalatable! Regarding the bookshelves - maybe too traditionalist of me but having the shelves half filled is infuriating! It's not necessarily that they require more books or ornaments - just a better distribution of the ones they have, in my opinion

The house is very subdued. I would want more large rugs on the floors to bring in some colour.

I agree with the others, the bookshelves need to be filled with books on some shelves and where shelves are empty add objects which don't have to be "designer fancy." a child's wooden toy. a collection of boxes. The house can be livened up when one moves in!

Really like the stripey lampshade in the kitchen. Do we think that’s from Pookey?

A note to say I’m loving your posts Kate, I’m so pleased I’ve subscribed. If I didn’t live in NZ, I’d join you in Italy!
