I so enjoyed reading your post on this topic, Kate. Very inspiring and a reminder to me to have some fun shaking it up a bit! Im feeling more daring by the minute. What is the saying? “If at first you don’t succeed…. “ The ideas are flowing now! Thank you Kate!
Completely agree. I love touches of acid yellow, neon orange or chartreuse and feel it just lifts a room, gives it some life and rescues it from staidness.
I’m also into pineapples and palm trees (very unoriginally but who cares!) amongst the more serious objet d’arts. (Just kidding - I don’t have serious objet d’arts sadly but you get the point!).
What a lovely description for this concept. I love the visual of the squeeze of lemon! Oh the red socks... I was never one for red so I'm very glad to hear I can achieve this with greens and cobalt blues. Thank you Kate! xx
Really enjoyed reading this Kate, and where I’m not a fan of red (or any pop colour for that matter), I do gravitate towards adding statement pieces to each room to create that wow factor.
Going to go for it in my palace of neutrals!
“We all need splash of bad taste”……..Brilliant!! You gotta shock ‘em!
Thank you. I think you've helped pinpoint why so much of my house feels beautiful now but blah

There are so many things to be afraid of in life, but colour isn't one of them!
Absolutely true. So often I visit a highly decorated/considered home and leave thinking, “Beautiful and boring”.

Great advice - looking forward to embracing some of our bad taste as we move into our new build. Sounds like fun!
Love this - there’s a lot of joy to be had in the unexpected, so why should it just be red?!
Love the quote from Nancy Lancaster. I also now need (!) a red handbag!!! Great piece Kate.
Absolutely love this Kate! Speaks volumes!
